Konica F Lenses

Early Konica 35 mm SLR mount, introduced in 1960 | 35 mm SLR

Konica F, sometimes described as Konica's early or Bayonet I SLR mount, predates the later AR system. It belongs to Konica's first 35 mm SLR period, when the company was experimenting with advanced bodies and Hexanon lenses before settling on the Autoreflex/AR lineage.

The mount supported a smaller lens range than AR, but includes historically interesting Hexanon primes and telephotos. Some early AR lenses were optically related to earlier Konica F-mount designs while gaining the newer AR mechanical interfaces.

Catalog entries for Konica F should be read as early SLR history rather than as part of the later, more common AR ecosystem. The lenses sit in the same broad 1960s transition from rangefinder-era formulas to fully developed 35 mm SLR systems.
