Samsung APS-C mirrorless mount, introduced in 2010 | APS-C digital
Samsung NX was an APS-C mirrorless system launched with the NX10 generation. It used a fully electronic bayonet, contrast-detect autofocus, in-lens motors, and a short mirrorless register, but with a flange distance longer than many later mirrorless mounts.
The native lens lineup became surprisingly complete, including compact pancakes, consumer zooms, macro, fisheye, fast primes, and premium S-series zooms. Samsung also emphasized connected-camera features and lens controls such as the i-Function button.
In catalog comparisons, NX is a reminder that early mirrorless development was not only a Japanese camera-maker story. The system ended relatively quickly, but its lenses show a mature APS-C mirrorless design language before Samsung left the interchangeable-lens camera market.
